Leveraging social media tools for online security
The Social Media Forum #da12social is proposing to support other forum groups leveraging social media tools and technique to grow attention.
Based on experience, I can say that when it comes to security it would be very important to be able to share your own experience.
Spam and phising are issues/risks which are growing online everyday more, new viruses are created everyday (around 90 million malware samples are predicted to be created in 2012) and learning how to create a robust password is something more than a tip that should be thought at school.
Reset your password
Our online experience is made everyday of more and more passwords to remember, more articulated and complex passwords difficult to identify.
This video shows ironically what can happen when resetting a password.
An idea I had after Thursday online Meeting.
Hi,
I want to follow up to the online meeting we had on Thursday. I had an idea while listening to the presentation and I want to share it here.
Google, a prototype of a large-scale search engine
This morning I found online a paper with the following introduction:
“In this paper, we present Google, a prototype of a large-scale search engine which makes heavy use of the structure present in hypertext. Google is designed to crawl and index the Web efficiently and produce much more satisfying search results than existing systems. The prototype with a full text and hyperlink database of at least 24 million pages is available at http://google.stanford.edu/ “
Trending Topic on Twitter
I was looking at the hashtags we are using to promote the DAA - #da12 #da12social #da12europe - and I thought it would be interesting to aim at becoming a trending topic on Twitter. After that, I realized that this would be quite difficult since Twitter does not offer the possibility to monitor trending topics for Europe. You can see the trending topic for Germany, France, Italy, Spain and so on, but you cant see the trending topic in Europe (or in the European Union).
Isn't this a sign of the fact we need more integration also in the field of social media?
