About me

Laia Pujol is the moderator of the innovation and entrepreneurship community of Digital Agenda for Europe. She was EC contractor for the coordination of reporting activities in the First Digital Agenda Assembly (Juin 2011) and she supported the online stakeholders engagement of Going Local II (September-December 2011). She is Head of European Project at Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center of IESE Business School, where she carries research and analysis in support of international studies on Innovation, R&D policies and Entrepreneurship. She previously worked as Head of the Department of International Strategic Initiatives at the Institute of Innovation for Human Wellbeing (I2BC); and before as policy analyst with the General Secretary of Innovation at the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Enterprise of the Government of Andalusia.

La necesidad de financiación y despliegue de redes de banda ancha es indiscutible hoy en día. Internet ha pasado a ser un bien público necesario como el agua, la electricidad..La banda ancha impulsa el crecimiento económico, empleo y competitividad. Como dijo Neelie Kroes el pasado 30 de Noviembre en Francia "incrementando la penetración en un 10% puede añadir 100billion Euros al PIB europeo cada año".

How to increase and support digital entrepreneurship in Spain?

Next 13th December, the Digital Agenda for Europe is going to Spain to discuss digital entrepreneurship: which are the main challenges in Spain? which initiatives could launch the spanish government to support digital entrepreneurs? which inspiring initiatives could we replicate?

So...I invite you all to join the discussion group of Spain and share your ideas! there are discussions in spanish but discussions and comments in English are very much welcome!

Competencias digitales: urgente problema que resolver!

En un contexto de crisis económica como el que estamos viviendo en España, es urgente dar respuestas efectivas a la alta tasa de desempleo en especial entre los jóvenes. El debate sobre emprendedores está lanzado porque todavía hay mucho por hacer y es una respuesta indiscutible a este problema; pero también es preocupante ver el gap entre oferta y demanda de empleo en especial en el sector de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones.

Here is my last theme before the Assembly next week, after two months already debating on how to improve policies, environments for entrepreneurs, and which programs or initiatives could better work. Many ideas have already come up for a new European Startup partnership to boost web companies in Europe and how to increase entrepreneurial culture. And of course, Innovation keeps being the cornestone of our discussions: also a very animated debate on how to improve EU funds to better target the most innovative actors, which kind of innovation process should we foster (e.g co-innovation?
