Sensor data will explode: trust needed
There are reasons to believe that sensor data will explode around us. This raises many questions, especially trust questions. Do we trust the data on which we base our decisions? If yes, on what grounds? Google has more or less introduced a mechanism for trust in websites: their PageRank algorithm serves as a primary trust indicator for many people. We will need such an indicator for sensor data as well.
Open Data is not always Public Data
Lots of discussions are focusing on Open Data and (implicitly) assuming that these are always public data. Currently, often only static data is considered. But data from private companies, or -even- from "the crowd" can also be Open Data. In my opinion, including non-public data, and focusing more on realtime data, will give us much more opportunities. (This focus must include privacy and ownership issues from the beginning.)
