For the time being, there are over 150 open data initiatives all around the world (see map at http://url.ctic.es/catalogs ). This number is growing constantly, and every new open data portal resembles the others. All the initiatives are similar, but with subtle differences which put (unconsciously) barriers to interoperability and PSI re-use.
