About me
I'm involved in implementation of the Library Development Program designed to help Poland’s public libraries by providing access to computers, the Internet, and training. Since 2009 the Program has been providing support for more than 3,300 local public libraries from more tha n 1,100 small towns and villages, transforming the libraries to modern, multi-functional information, cultural and education centers stimulating civic involvement. The Program is a result of the partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF)and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
My duties include among others: management of a network of the Program regional coordinators, preparing progress reports and fundraising. I'm also a member of the EU Working Group, composed of representatives of all the EU-based BMGF grantees (Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania), created to exchange EU-related information and to engage in the EU advocacy showing how libraries contribute to the DAE implementation.
In 2001-2008 I worked for the Foundation in Support of Local Democracy (FRDL), the biggest Polish NGO training local government officials and established in 1989 by Professor Jerzy Regulski, author of the first local government reform in Poland, where after being a project officer, I coordinated a project development team.
Specialist in preparing grant proposals and tender offers to Polish and foreign programs, including the European Union structural funds.
I graduated from the Institute of Political Science at the University of Warsaw (2001); in 2007 she became Doctor of Arts (specialization in European Union studies).
