The trust and security pillar of the Digital Agenda for Europe aims at enhancing cyber security preparedness, combating cyber-crime and cyber attacks, ensuring data protection and safer internet for children. Building on this, the upcoming European Strategy for Internet Security to be adopted in the third quarter of 2012 aims at ensuring and promoting an open, transparent, secure and resilient global digital ecosystem benefitting EU citizens, businesses and public administrations. Opportunities and funding schemes encouraging the deployment of appropriate technological solutions, which respond both to present and future security challenges, will be further put forward in Horizon 2020 and the Connecting Europe Facility.

Survey: How to Stimulate Investments in Secure & Trustworthy ICT?
The workshop will identify priorities and actions needed in the field of Internet Security in Europe. In preparation, we'd like to collect the maximum number of insightful ideas and inspiring initiatives on the key questions:
1) What are, in your opinion, the current strengths and weaknesses of the European ICT industry, in terms of supplying security products and implementing security features in their products?
2) What are the barriers to a vibrant European ICT security market?
3) What could be the incentives for more European investment in ICT security to limit risks? What are the obstacles to preventive actions - from the point of view of the user, as well as the supplier?
4) What measures would you suggest to stimulate further European innovation and competitiveness in this specific sector, including for reducing the research-market gap?
By providing your comments to the questions, you have the opportunity to contribute to identify those measures which would further foster innovation in the European ICT security and promote the research results in trustworthy ICT so that they are widely adopted across the digital single market.
