What are the most relevant obstacles for Cloud adoption by SMEs?
SMEs are continuously more and more aware of the benefits of cloud services for their business.
However they are still largely reluctant in intensive cloud adoption.
As the IDC Study (http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/ssai/study-cc_en.html) confirms, there are still several barriers in wide adoption of cloud computing by SMEs in Europe.
- What are the most relevant obstacles (according to the evidence you know) for Cloud adoption by SMEs?
- How are or those obstacles best addressed?

The best sloution to gain SMEs trust is to have DATA Free Zone controled by the government. The idea is all cloud companioes move to this zone and follow the policies and regulations of the free zone. This zone can be build in each Europe country and they linked to each other.
What would a "DATA Free Zone
What would a "DATA Free Zone controled by the government" help?
I guess that you are trying say that SMEs need data security in cloud - even though your suggestion dont provide an answer.
Why should Government be able to secure this when the cloud service provider cannot.
Probably an additional
Probably an additional obstacle is that many SMEs are insufficiently comfortable in relying on the good practices put in place by the cloud service providers (IaaS, Paas, SaaS). Although valuable guidance is available to SMEs on how to identify and address possible cloud-related risks, the awareness amongst SMEs is still low.
The European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) already published good stuff on this topic:

I would like to share with you the document recently published by the ONTSI ( National observatory for telecomunications of spain) where it is showed that Cloud is a big unknown by the SMEs, at least in Spain.

Been said that, if SMEs are a key factor in European economy, awareness in Cloud and its potencial for the SMEs´ actual and future businesses should be a priority to enhance Europe´s economy.
Thanks Silvia. Do you have
Thanks Silvia. Do you have suggestions on how to tackle this information gap on cloud by SMEs? How can we help SMEs in have all relevant information they need in relation to cloud technologies and services?
Dear Carmela,
Dear Carmela,
From my point of view within the SMEs' group there is a large variety of companies which would benefit from Cloud, companies that have different nature and therefore different needs. Identifying groups with similar requirements, R+D capacity or potential use of cloud should be vital for action planning, customising such actions as required.
While we talk about interface
While we talk about interface I think we should care about 2 implementations - front end (content) and back-end (admin interface). the most trouble we get in menu system when 'Add content' and others are works in both areas. Now textgroup support is dropped and I see no ability to separate this.
