The GOLDENWORKERS Future Scenario of ageing at work is now open for consultation
Goldenworkers is a collaborative project for the identification of emerging technologies and socio-economic trends, new models of extending professional active life and novel application scenarios in the area of ICT for active ageing at work, leading to the definition of a beyond of the state-of-the-art research agenda, fully embraced by research and practice community. The study puts forward four thought-provoking scenarios, describing how technology can transform the work of nurses, public administration, production, and how early adoption can give competitive edge to an enterprise. Thank you for the link and the note that ICT carries employment potential & opportunities for all age groups. I fully agree that the experience older people bring enhanced by technology can be valuable in several working scenarios. In other words:
Experience x Technology = Business Value
For example, these days I collaborate with a talented 70+ year-old for innovative training approaches in Virtual Worlds!
In this context one relative question is to setup meaningful systems, processes to facilitate and enhance life-long learning and *meaningful* technology adoption. Are there good practices around that topic to share?
Our collective task at the policy design level in this Digital Agenda Assembly group is figuring out practical ways and then involving & enabling stakeholders to have a positive impact on people & the job market with ICT or in the ICT sector. And despite the fact that the primary focus of DA12 is on younger generations, I believe the involvement of older people can be a positive factor.
