Pan-European services like Netflix should exist by now!

Make audiovisual collective licensing easy and fast. Help and promote companies that want to open throughout the European Union. We are pressured in downloading illegal content because there is no way to purchase next day episodes of TV shows. Expanding iTunes TV shows, Netflix, VUDU and other video services is long and tedious process that costs a lot of money to the companies. Current framework if hurting both consumers and content producers.

Sounds like a policy recommendation, thanks Prodan. Are you thinking of any specific measure to "make audiovisual collective licensing easy and fast"?

I think we should wait for the adoption of the sixth version of the IP protocol (IPv6), the current fourth version does not allow precise control of these aspects.
Any other solution based on the fourth version of the protocol should be a software solutions (Layer 7 of the OSI model), and as such become quickly obsolete.

Although I do support the efforts for IPv6, I don't think it will become widely adopted in the coming months or even years.
What Netflix is concerned: first of all I am convinced a European player will offer far more diversified (incl. European origin) content than Netflix.
Working in the OTT delivery myself nowadays, I am not sure the current framework is the biggest obstacle - depends on what you are referring to exactly, Prodan.
Clearing collection rights on a European level would make sense, both business as well as European Union wise - I vouch for that.

"Clearing collection rights on a European level would make sense" >> I 100% support that, as it will simplify the current schema and encourage both EU-based providers and external ones (aka Netflix) to take the challenge of running the service EU-wide.
